Welcome to Cork and Copper

Every great experience has a story. Sometimes it begins with a memorable bottle of wine shared over dinner. Sometimes it's a whiskey discovered while traveling. And sometimes it begins with a conversation between friends. Ours began nearly ten years ago, and over the years we realized our paths had been remarkably similar.

Long before Cork and Copper was even an idea, we were each traveling the world in search of memorable experiences. Whether wandering through wine regions, discovering a neighborhood distillery, sharing a meal at a family owned restaurant, or bringing home a bottle that reminded us of a special place, we found ourselves chasing many of the same things: connection, craftsmanship, and the stories behind what was in the glass.

Although our journeys happened independently, they followed parallel paths. Travel continually introduced us to new wines, new whiskeys, and new cultures, and with every trip our appreciation grew a little deeper. We came to realize that the best bottles were never just about what you tasted. They were about where they came from, who made them, and the memories created while enjoying them.

When those parallel journeys eventually came together one night over one of our routine “catch up time” dinners, Cork and Copper was born.

What if we created the kind of tasting experience we would want to attend ourselves?

Not a class that felt formal or intimidating. Not an event where you needed to know the "right" terminology or pretend to be an expert. Instead, an experience where everyone feels comfortable from the moment they walk in. One where curiosity is encouraged, questions are celebrated, and learning happens naturally through conversation. An evening where every guest can discover something new. Whether it's their very first wine tasting or they've been collecting bottles for years.

Our mission is simple: create experiences that bring people together through thoughtfully curated wine and whiskey pairings, approachable education, and memorable conversations.

Every event we design begins with a story. Sometimes it's the history behind a winery that's been making wine for generations, and sometimes it's the craftsmanship of a family owned distillery. Sometimes it's why two seemingly different pours unexpectedly complement one another. We believe understanding the story behind what's in your glass makes the experience even more meaningful.

And while wine and whiskey are at the heart of what we do, people are always the reason we do it. We hope every guest leaves with more than a list of tasting notes. We hope you discover a new favorite bottle, learn something you didn't know before, meet someone new, laugh a little, and create memories you'll talk about long after the last glass has been poured.

This Journal will be our place to share the journey as Cork and Copper grows.

You'll find behind-the-scenes looks at how we build each experience, stories from our travels, new wine and whiskey discoveries, pairing inspiration, lessons we've learned along the way, and the milestones, both big and small, that make building this business such an exciting adventure.

The first page of every story is always the most exciting because anything is possible.

We're honored that you're here to read ours from the very beginning.

Welcome to Cork and Copper.

Cheers,

Monica & Jerome
